Carol currently serves as President of the Portland Youth Philharmonic Board of Directors and the Oregon Symphonic Band’s Board of Directors. She brings to this role many years of experience as both a professional musician and career educator. Musically, Carol has performed with the Oregon Symphony, the Portland Opera Orchestra, and many other professional groups in the region. She taught in the Beaverton School District for 30 years – serving as first a band director before moving on to administrative roles including nine years as a school principal. After retiring from BSD, Carol taught in the Graduate School of Education at Lewis and Clark College and was the Director of the Oregon Principals Center.

Love of the arts has been a constant in Carol's life. She is an active adjudicator, consultant, and speaker for arts advocacy. She has served on the boards of several local arts organizations including RACC, the Portland Youth Philharmonic, the Beaverton Arts Commission, and the Beaverton Education Foundation.
