Greetings
Fáilte,
Following the highly successful Inaugural Conference on Phase Transition and Dynamical Properties of Spin Transition Materials (PDSTM) in Tokyo in 2006, the meeting has been held approximately every two years - Bordeaux (France, 2008), Tsukuba (Japan, 2010), Versailles (France, 2012), Tokyo (Japan, 2014), Gandia (Spain, 2016), Gainesville (USA, 2019), Tokyo (Japan, 2023) - and has grown in scope over this time.
On behalf of the Organizing and Program Committees, we now welcome delegates from all over the world to participate in the 9th International Conference on Phase Transition and Dynamical Properties of Spin Transition Materials, PDSTM2025 which will be hosted in Dublin 25-29 May 2025.
PDSTM is an important forum that offers opportunities to present and discuss the most up-to-date research as well as exchange ideas between participants in the field of spin-transitions and related phase transition materials. For the last half-century spin transition materials have been investigated for their inherent interest and for their potential in information storage, sensing and molecular switching. New applications have emerged in recent years as witnessed by the number of reports of their incorporation in a wider range of applications including nanoelectronics, molecular spintronics, photonics, as mechanical actuators, and in cooperative adsorption.
This conference covers all topics in spin crossover research, combining the interests of a multitude of scientists from varying disciplines. Chemists provide expertise in the design and synthesis of new switchable spin transition materials with multifunctional properties. Physicists bring a command of phase behavior and new phenomena based on spin-state switching. Materials researchers apply modern fabrication methods and device technologies. Theoreticians tackle the in-depth understanding of the complexity of coupling electronic spin-states to the elastic properties of materials from the macro- to nanoscale.
We invite you to participate in PDSTM2025 which will be held in University College Dublin (UCD), and encourage you to take the opportunity to visit the wonderful capital of Ireland that is Dublin with its fantastic culture, atmosphere and history. For more adventures outside of the capital, take a look at the astonishing treks around Dublin and Wicklow County, or escape to Galway or Cork city.
Tá súil againn go bhfeicfimíd sibh go léir in Éirinn - hope to see you all in Ireland!
