In Ireland, food businesses are legally required to declare the presence of the following 14 allergens, even in non-prepackaged or on-site prepared food. This allergen information will be clearly displayed and consistently followed throughout the country:
Cereals containing gluten (e.g. wheat, rye, barley, oats)
Crustaceans (e.g. crabs, prawns, lobsters)
Eggs
Fish
Peanuts
Soybeans
Milk
Nuts (e.g. almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews)
Celery
Mustard
Sesame seeds
Sulphur dioxide and sulphites
Lupin
Molluscs (e.g. mussels, oysters)
