1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how PDFer (the "Extension," "we," "us") handles information when you use the PDFer Chrome extension and related license services.

2. Summary

Email message content used to build PDFs is processed in your browser so you can save or print files locally. We do not upload email bodies to PDFer servers for storage, advertising, or resale.

To run Free/Pro licensing, we process a small amount of account and license data, including the signed-in Gmail address used with the Extension.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Information we process

3.1 Processed on your device

When you export or print, the Extension reads Gmail data needed to build the PDF files or print job, such as:

• Message headers and body content shown in Gmail

• Attachment names and files you choose to include

• Filename and folder settings you configure

• Local extension preferences stored in Chrome on your computer

This information is used to create files you download, save, or print.  PDFer does not keep a cloud archive of your email content.

3.2 License and account data (sent to our license service)

To activate Free tier, validate Pro, enforce accounts and quotas, and restore your license on a new device, the PDFer Extension communicates with our license backend and may store:

• Gmail address (the signed-in account bound to a license)

• License key (Free or Pro)

• Plan, status, Gmail account list, and limit

• Daily export counts used for Free-tier limits

• Entitlement/validation data needed to keep licensing working offline for a limited time

• Limited technical logs (for example error codes and timestamps) for reliability and abuse prevention

How Gmail is used for licensing

PDFer is licensed per Gmail account, not per computer. When you open Gmail, the Extension detects the signed-in address and restores Free or Pro status for that address.  A Free license is locked to one Gmail address.  A Pro license can include multiple Gmail accounts you activate with the Pro key.  If you use another device with the same Gmail account, PDFer restores the same license status for that device's account.

3.3 Payment data

Paid Pro subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record).  We receive license and subscription events needed to update your plan (for example key created, active, expired).  We do not receive or store your full credit card number.  Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy applies to payment processing.

3.4 What we do not do with message content

We do not use your email bodies, attachments, or generated PDFs for advertising. We do not sell message content.

4. How we use information

• Provide PDF export, attachment handling, naming, folder save, and print features you request

• Create and restore Free licenses locked to a Gmail account

• Activate and validate Pro keys and Gmail accounts

• Enforce quotas and Pro-only features (such as Print)

• Prevent abuse (for example duplicate free keys)

• Improve reliability and support

• Comply with law

5. Sharing

We share data only with:

• Infrastructure providers that host the license API (for example Cloudflare)

• Lemon Squeezy for checkout and subscription lifecycle

• Authorities if legally required

We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention

• License records (Gmail account binding, plan/status, keys): kept while needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period after expiry for restore, support, and fraud prevention.

• Daily quota counters: short-lived

• Local Chrome storage: until you clear extension data or uninstall

7. Security

License API calls use HTTPS. Entitlements may be signed to reduce tampering. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

• Use Free tier with automatic Gmail-bound registration, or paste a Pro key

• Remove local license data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing its data in Chrome (the server-side Gmail lock remains until a support reset)

• Uninstall the Extension to stop local processing

• Depending on your region, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of license/account data we hold by contacting pdfer.email@gmail.com

9. Children

PDFer is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that higher age applies).

10. Google / Chrome

The Extension runs in Google Chrome and works with Gmail in your browser. Google's terms and privacy policy apply to your Google Account and Gmail. PDFer is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do.
