Features
PDFer is a Chrome extension for bulk Gmail PDF export and printing. Select messages in Gmail, then export or print with high-fidelity layout, attachments, smart filenames, and local processing.
PDF export:
PDF Separate - one PDF file per selected message
PDF Combined - many selected messages in one PDF
Max Combined PDF size (1 / 2 / 4 / 8 GB) splits very large Combined exports into multiple PDFs
Built from Gmail print-quality content for faithful layout
Combined PDFs can include nested bookmarks by message and attachment
Separate PDFs use clear attachment titles when attachments are included
Selection that scales:
Works from normal Gmail checkbox selection
Supports "Select all conversations that match this search" - not just the visible page
Fast bulk collection across Gmail pages
Selection count and live job status appear in the PDFer toolbar, to the right of Help
Attachments:
Printable Inline - merge printable attachments into the PDF after each message
Printable Download - save original printable attachment files beside the PDF
Non-Printable Download - save companion files (zip, audio, video, encrypted PDFs, and other non-merged types)
Treat Google Drive Links Like Attachments - pull Drive-linked files from messages, not only classic MIME attachments
Office documents can follow Gmail viewer to PDF path for faithful layout when available
Free tier includes attachments with a per-message attachment limit (see Pricing)
Pro unlocks up to 200 attachments per processed message
Smart / Dynamic filenames and folder names:
Choose a dedicated PDF download folder (required) with the system folder picker
Dynamic filename patterns with tokens such as date, time, subject, from, address, and direction
Optional Use sub-folder pattern (missing folders are created automatically)
Separate patterns for PDFs and companion attachment files
Live path preview and resettable default patterns
{label} - organize by Gmail labels. When you put {label} in a Sub-Folder Pattern, PDFer copies each message into every label folder (nested paths; a full duplicate, not a shortcut). Slashes in a Gmail label name become nested folders.
{thread} - Gmail thread-id folder. With {label}, it is created under each label folder. Without {label}, it is created under the run folder. Use it to keep a conversation's messages together.
Printing (Pro only):
Print - opens a small Print dialog, then Chrome's print dialog for a combined document of message bodies
Inline printable attachments - checkbox in the Print dialog that includes printable attachments
No separate file-save dialog for print jobs - choose a printer or Save as PDF in Chrome
Same high-fidelity Gmail content used for PDF export
Privacy and local processing:
Message bodies are converted to PDF in your browser session
PDFer does not upload full email bodies to PDFer servers for storage or advertising
License validation uses only account/license metadata (see Privacy Policy)
Licensing:
Free tier auto-activates for the signed-in Gmail account
Free: limited messages per day, attachments included within Free limits, no Print
Pro (yearly): unlimited message exports, Print features, multi-Gmail accounts on one key
Licenses are locked to Gmail accounts, not devices
Open Gmail account on a new computer and PDFer restores Free or Pro for that address
How to use:
Install PDFer extension in Chrome
Open Gmail and select messages (or select all matching a search)
Click PDF Separate, PDF Combined, or Print on the PDFer toolbar in Gmail
For a full-account archive (Pro), click PDF all Gmail messages in the PDFer popup
Choose folder/patterns when saving, or finish in the Chrome print dialog
See Pricing for Free vs Pro limits and account packs. See Privacy Policy for how licensing and local processing work.
