STRAIGHT-THROUGH
This is the wiring pattern for the straight-through cable.Ā
Cut the Jacket off using some kind of cutter, then you should find the wires wrapped together. Once you have the wires free, untangle them and put them in the proper order for Straight-Through. (Blue and Blue-White, Orange and Orange-White, Green and Green-White, Brown and Brown-White)
This is what the wires will look like with a bit of straightening lining them up with the order in the wiring diagram above. Make sure they are in the right order before you cut them, and feel free to also take the time to straight them out as best you can.
There are the wires all lined up and ready to be cut to size. Again, make sure they are in the correct order before cutting.
Use a cutter to cut the wires. Often times when you cut the wires its best to make sure that the ends of the wires are lined up as straight as possible, so make sure when you cut them that the ends line up properly, or they won't feed thru correctly.
Once they wires and all trimmed to size and aligned and ready to be cased, slowly insert the wires into the case and push tightly once you see all of the wires in place to confirm they are at the end.
Once the cables are in the clip and you are sure they are in the right order, use a clamp to tighten down on the wires and confirm them in their place.
Confirm your connection works, by testing it.
After you have confirmed that it works, plug in the cable to a plug and to the back of your desktop
Open settings, seach for Internet and make sure your connection is secure.
CROSS-OVER
This is the diagram for the first end of the cross-over cable
This is the diagram for the second end of the cross-over cable
Same as the first step, untangle the wires and put them in the correct order. The first end wil go in orderĀ
White-orange,orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown)
and then the second end is
white green, green, white orange, white brown, brown, orange,, blue, white blue
Make sure the ends are diffrent and keep track of which end you are doing.

Same as before, line up all the wires and then cut them, make sure to document which end you are doing.
Once they wires and all trimmed to size and aligned and ready to be cased, slowly insert the wires into the case and push tightly once you see all of the wires in place to confirm they are at the end. Confirm both ends with the above listed wiring diagrams before crimping.
Once the cables are in the clip and you are sure they are in the right order, use a clamp to tighten down on the wires and confirm them in their place.
Confirm your connections by using a tester. Plug into ports as shown. Results if working correct should be as followed:
1-3: 2-6: 3-1: 4-7: 5-8
