Jackie's Story

Twenty-one weeks pregnant.

When Jackie came to PCOM and received her Love Box and learned about this wonderful judgement-free support group Embrace Grace!

Jackie’s life was never easy, sexually assaulted as a child, raped, and assaulted as an adult, drug addiction, prostitution to feed her drug addiction, and losing custody of her four children.

When Jackie found out she was expecting baby number 5, she knew it was time to get herself clean. She started the drug and alcohol program at a local church where she was later baptized and dedicated her life to the Lord.

The Embrace Grace fall semester began in November of 2023. Jackie was eager to grow in her relationship and knowledge of Jesus Christ. She was hungry for community and finally she was hopeful about the future birth of her baby and the prospect of bringing her little one home and being the best mom she could be to her child. The eleven-week program’s lessons covered topics such as: Our Identity in Christ, Breaking Chains, Forgiving Others and Ourselves and How to Receive and Extend Grace, Jackie allowed herself to be open with the Leaders and her confidence in who she was grew. She longed for support and accountability too. Jackie found that in Embrace Grace and at PCOM.

At the close of each semester, each mom receives a Baby Shower and surprise Princess Day! Jackie’s day began at a local salon where she was pampered from head to toe, hair, manicure, pedicure and make up. All done to remind her she is the daughter of The One True King. Jackie’s shower was held at Watson Run Church with ladies from the congregation, PCOM family, and Jackie’s friend, mom and daughter were in attendance. It was truly a beautiful shower. Gifts, a light luncheon, games, and fellowship around the tables and with Jackie. As Jackie finished opening the lovely gifts, she expressed her gratitude and felt led to share her testimony with the women. Everyone was so moved by her witness as to what the Lord had been doing in her life over the past months and felt led to pray over her. As the crowd came around Jackie and laid hands on her each one shared in the prayers, we prayed over her and her sweet baby. As we came to the end, Jackie asked to pray. Her prayer was one of gratefulness to God and a plea for forgiveness of the mistakes she had made over the years from her oldest daughter and her mom. She expressed her gratefulness to her mom for stepping in and raising her daughter when she couldn’t. She expressed her gratefulness to God for the good man Andree was to her both now throughout the pregnancy and through the highs and lows of her addiction as he stood by her. What a powerful moment, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room.
