FAQs
- Who should attend?
Community-patient leaders, scientists, and partners representing community organizations, and community researchers active in collaborative research and a community health partnership; particularly those new or uncomfortable with manuscript writing. Attendance as a collaborative writing team is encouraged, but individuals are very welcome. Given limited space at the workshop, we encourage only 1 academic partner to attend with a partnership team.
- What preparation is needed?
We will poll participants to gauge experience and skill with scholarly writing and collaborative authorship. If you have writing you have been working on or have a completed project (e.g., a report or community facing writing) you are considering publishing in an academic journal, please bring this along, but it is not necessary to have writing to participate.
- Will there be further support?
Following the workshop, PCHP will convene a series of virtual webinars to follow up on different aspects of academic writing and publishing including further in-depth work on specific aspects of writing, as well as information and training regarding peer-review and Associate Editor work for those interested. We may also provide additional workshop events. Learning Community activities beyond the workshop include:
Toolkit, Best Practices and Resources
Follow-up Virtual Webinars (3-4)
Coaching and Office Hours
PCHP Special Issue
PCHP Reflections and Community Perspectives article guidelines for authors and collaborative author teams
