Course Calendar:
3/27/24, 10:30-11:15am. Online Orientation to Population and Community Health Clerkship
Sept 16-20 daily: 8-9:30a Required didactic sessions on zoom, followed by 10a-4pm population or community-specific content to be developed and led by small group team leaders. You are required to attend unless your team leader has confirmed your absence for other scheduled activities. All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to Blackboard by mid-afternoon.
9/20/24 5:00pm: Written reflection due to team leaders per their direction. You are encouraged to also share with your mentors.
Sept 23-26 daily: Team-specific activities 8-4 to include:
Sept 24: (Optional) Engagement Mixer for Community Health, 2-5pm at the Worcester Area Mission Society, 6 Institute Road, in collaboration with the Higher Ed Consortium of Central MA (HECCMA) and the Coalition for a Healthy Greater Worcester: Opportunity for engaged learners and community partner sites to connect new learners to the programs and projects they have prioritized for the year. This event is required for MS1s to attend (and they are looking forward to meeting you!) and will also attract learners from other schools and majors. There will also be healthy and delicious local snacks.
Sept 25: Required Interprofessional teamwork simulation activity with MCPHS University pharmacy and Tan Chingfen GSN learners; each team participates for 2 hours on Zoom, working with a multiprofessional team to solve a patient case. Team leaders will schedule their members to participate at 8:30, 11:30 or 2:30. There is one hour of preparatory material for students to review and a question set to be completed prior to attending (see Assignments in Blackboard). The rest of the day is available for small group activity.

Sept 26: Team-specific activities to include a practice presentation to work on timing to fit in 20 minutes and to acknowledge roles of every learner on the team.
Sept 27: Required Presentation Day: mini-conference with 6 different Zoom rooms hosting 20 min presentations starting every 30 minutes from 9-11am and 1-3pm. All sessions will be recorded to Blackboard. Students are required to attend for their two hour session, encouraged to actively participate for the full 4 hours and expected to submit two peer reviews of other teams' talks by Monday morning using the link in Assignments.
