Minimum Requirements For Being A PFA Event Organizer

The founding Organizers of PFA created some minimum requirements for being a PFA organizer. They have worked well in helping us make PFA great, so we use them still to this day. Don’t worry, they are very easy.

They include:

1) To be a member of PFA for at least 6 months and attend several PFA events. (This requirement gives us an opportunity to get to know you.)

2) You have to have (at least) your first name on your profile.

3) It's a requirement for each member to have a visible face photo on their PFA profile, but a PFA Organizer should have a VERY clear and current picture of their face at all times. This means a picture that is like a mug shot with no hat and/or sunglasses. This helps members recognize you when attending an event that you host.

4) The main Organizer (Morgan) is to have your First and Last name, cell number, and email address. This is for communication between the Organizers ONLY.

5) To make every effort to attend our January Organizer meeting. In our January meeting, we will discuss the previous year's events, Event Organizer's year-end review, and goals for the new year. PFA Organizers will have additional meetings throughout the year when needed.

6) To post at least 4 PFA events per year.

7) When you post an event, please show up at the location on the date and time specified in your description. If you cannot attend, either cancel the event or find another organizer to take over. If an emergency arises at the last minute, leave a comment in the comment section to inform others that you won't be there.

8) As a PFA organizer, it is expected of you to make an effort to help new members feel welcomed at any PFA event, especially new members, whether it’s your event or not.

9) Each Event Organizer posts their own events. No posting an event for someone else.

10) When hosting a PFA event, please do not promote other Meetup groups (except gotRVA) and their events.

11) When attending another PFA Organizer's event, ask “how can I help?” If they say they don’t need any help, then fine, have fun. If they say they do need help, then help them, but be careful not to take over. It is their event.
