To be considered, you must be at least 15 years old and have a co-applicant—a parent or guardian—who can accompany you while volunteering at one of our locations.
A co-applicant will also be required for remote volunteer positions.

We're looking for a talented volunteer writer to contribute to exciting projects that will be featured on our website and social media accounts. If you're passionate about writing and working in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you!
Requirements:
Ability to write clearly, effectively, and professionally
Able to commit a minimum 2-3 hours per week
If you're in high school, you must be enrolled in university stream courses
Role Responsibilities:
Work on various writing projects to be published on our main website and social media platforms
Collaborate with other volunteers, including designers, shelter staff, and board members, to create engaging content
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your portfolio, gain experience, and make a meaningful impact!

This position will be 100% remote. It is open to high school students 16 years old or older who are looking to meet volunteer hour requirements.

Main Cattery Volunteer (Brampton, ON)
Main Cattery Volunteer (Brampton, ON)
We're seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to volunteer at our Main Cattery (located around downtown Brampton). If you’re passionate about animal welfare and are ready to make a difference, we would love to have you on board!
Requirements:
Can commit 2-3 hours per week on an agreed-upon day and time
Must be at least 18 years old (If under 18, a parent or guardian must accompany you for each shift)
Understand that in the shelter, you may encounter sensitive and potentially alarming situations (e.g., injured animals, blood, etc.)
Role Responsibilities:
Clean cages, scoop litter, and disinfect tools
Feed cats and ensure they have fresh water
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shelter
Socialize and interact with the animals to help them feel comfortable
We are looking for volunteers to fill the following shifts (will be removed as they are filled):
Monday
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Tuesday
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Friday
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Saturday

Pet Transport
Pet Transport
We are currently in need of individuals who are available Wednesday and/or Thursday to do vet runs. This entails picking up cats from the main cattery and our Heartland PetSmart location and delivering cats to our vet offices in Mississauga. Cats will need to be picked up after the vet appointment and transported back to their original location. We provide the cages and can contribute to gas costs as well. Occasional cat pickups might also occur from Kitchener and/or Orangeville possibly one or two times a month. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please fill out a volunteer application on our website indicating pet transport. A volunteer coordinator will contact you with additional details.
