Pauquette Paws December Newsletter
Hey everyone!
I hope you and your pups are having a cozy start to December. There are several schedule updates this month, so please read carefully to help keep everything running smoothly.
Updated Hours & Scheduling:
New Standard Hours (Beginning December 1st):
6:30AM-10:00AM --> Drop-Off Window
11:00AM-5:30PM --> Pick-Up Window
Please Note:
I will no longer be accepting early drop-offs
Later evening pick-up may be pre-arranged at an increased rate.
Weekly Booking Policy (Starting in December)
All daycare bookings must be made by the Sunday prior to the upcoming week to ensure your day of choice.
Example:
For the week of December 1st-5th, all reservations would need to be submitted by Sunday, November 30th.
Clients who have emailed me back with their ideal, chosen days will recieve priority for their usual days. If those spots are not booked by Sunday, they will be offered to other clients.
Low Attendance Days
If there are ever two or fewer dogs scheduled on a given day, dogs may be crated for portions of the day or daycare may close early depending on scheduled pick-up times.
Friday & Saturday Daycare
Beginning in December:
First & Third (&5th, when applicable) Fridays of the Month:
Open for daycare 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Dogs will be crated from 10:30AM-12:30PM
Second & Fourth Saturdays
Open from 7:30AM - 3:30PM
Weather & School Closures
If the Poynette School District closes, Pauquette Paws will be closed depending on the circumstances.
If the Poynette School District has a late start for opening, Pauquette Paws will evaluate road conditions and plan accordingly.
I will always communicate closures as early as possible via Facebook and direct email.
Reasons for Closure will typically be: Icy roads, patch of black ice, 4+ inches of unplowed snow. We will NOT be closed due to cold weather.
If the Poynette School District has an early release, Pauquette Paws will remain open later and dogs will be safe here. If they stay later, they may be given dinner assuming no allergies. Pauquette Paws will offer overnight boarding in the events roads are too dangerous.
Poynette Christmas Parade -- December 6th at 5pm
Pauquette Paws will be in the Poynette Christmas Parade on December 6th at 5:00PM! If you're out and about, come wave, grab some treats, and enjoy the holiday cheer. I'm so excited to be part of this event and represent all of your amazing pups!
Winter Gear: Sweaters, Boots, & Cold Weather Play
Now that temperatures are dropping, I've had more questions about what to expect.
Indoor Play in Cold Weather
When it's very cold, dogs will spend most of the day playing indoors. They will still be taken outside regularly for quick bathroom breaks.
Every dog is different -- coat type, age, medical needs, and cold tolerance all play a role -- so I completely understand wanting your pup comfortable.
Can you bring sweaters & boots?
Yes! Sweaters and boots are allowed as longer as dogs are desensitized to the items, and they do not become a safety issue.
I may remove or limit winter gear if:
Other dogs are repeatedly biting or tugging at coats/sweaters during play
The dog is not desensitized and it takes a long time to put on
It disrupts group flow because we go in and out several times a day
My goal is always safety, comfort, and smooth group management.
Future Considerations
If winter gear becomes something that many owners request daily, I may need to add a small fee simply because dressing/undressing multiple dogs can take a significant amount of time away from supervising the playgroups. This would only happen if it becomes a widespread, time-consuming task -- not for the occasional sweater.
Holiday Closures
Pauquette Paws will be closed for daycare and training on:
December 24th
December 25th
December 31st
December Photos
Our December photo theme will be:
Cozy Winter Wonderland
Photos will take place the week of December 15th.

So proud of these two for their consistency and love for daycare!
