January Pauquette Paws Newsletter
Hello everyone,
As we head into the new year, I kindly ask that you review the following updates and reminders. These policies are in place to help maintain a safe, structured, and high-quality environment for all dogs at Pauquette Paws.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support as the business continues to grow.

Shared Lobby & Safety
A karate studio will be moving into the space next to us, and we will now be sharing the lobby and parking lot. The daycare agreement will be updated accordingly.
As a reminder, dogs must remain on a standard 4–6 ft leash at all times and may not greet people in shared spaces, including the lobby and parking lot. Some individuals may be uncomfortable around dogs or unfamiliar with canine body language.
Owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior and any resulting incidents in shared spaces. Thank you for helping keep these areas safe and comfortable for everyone.
The updated daycare agreement must be signed by January 1st, 2026 to ensure your dog remains eligible for care.

Reservation-Based Care
Pauquette Paws operates strictly by reservation. Any previous flexibility with timing was intended solely for occasional, true emergencies and is not sustainable for routine or last-minute schedule changes.
Owners are expected to arrive within ±15 minutes of their scheduled drop-off time and ±10 minutes of their scheduled pick-up time as selected in Gingr.
Schedule changes must be made at least 24 hours before 6:00 AM on the scheduled daycare day. Exceptions may be made only in true emergency situations.
To continue offering a safe, kennel-free environment, consistent scheduling is essential. If scheduling challenges persist, operational adjustments may become necessary. These could include limited enrollment or temporary crating during extended drop-off or pick-up windows, which would reduce overall playtime and is not the preferred model.

Late Pick-Ups & Fees
Per the daycare agreement, late pick-ups may result in a $1 per minute fee beginning after the grace period. While this has not been consistently enforced in the past, it will be applied moving forward.
If a dog remains in my care past their scheduled pick-up time, they may be placed in a crate for safety while I am off-site. The earliest available pick-up time will be emailed to the Gingr account holder.
Thank you for respecting pick-up times and helping ensure a smooth end-of-day routine for all dogs.

Standing Day Reservations & Weekly Scheduling
Over the past two months, I have worked to establish consistent daycare days for each client to prevent overbooking and allow for more accurate scheduling.
Weekly reservations are required by 3:00 PM on the Sunday prior via Gingr, text, or email (for example, all reservations for Monday the 2nd through Thursday the 5th must be placed by Sunday the 1st). After this deadline, remaining availability may be offered to waitlisted dogs.
You may book up to three months in advance through Gingr. This option is recommended only for those with consistent drop-off and pick-up times.
If you know in advance that your dog will miss a scheduled day or week, please notify me so the spot can be filled. Holidays are the only exception for missed days without notice. Frequent uncommunicated absences may be logged, and standing spots may be reassigned if missed days become excessive.
This system allows me to maintain safe group sizes and ensures owners can select accurate times when booking, rather than rushing or guessing.

Afternoon Pick-Ups (Effective January 1st, 2026)
Daycare will remain kennel-free from 6:15 AM to 3:30 PM.
Beginning January 1st, 2026, dogs scheduled for pick-up after 3:30 PM will be crated from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. This allows for end-of-day cleaning, safety, and off-site responsibilities while avoiding a full-day crate-and-rotate setup.
Most dogs are already picked up by 3:30 PM, so this change should not affect many clients.
Pick-ups after 3:30 PM will occur in the following scheduled windows, each with a 5-minute grace period:
4:00 PM
4:30 PM
5:00 PM
If a window is missed (for example, a 3:30 PM pick-up is not completed by 3:35 PM), the next available pick-up window will apply, and late fees may be assessed.

Inclement Weather
In cases of severe weather, Pauquette Paws may open late or close depending on road conditions. An email notification will be sent by 6:00 AM the day of, though I will always try to provide as much notice as possible.
If local school districts are closed and I decide to remain open, drop-off times may be flexible. In those cases, I ask that a text or email be sent with a rough estimated arrival time. If no contact is made after the grace period, the day may be marked as a no-call/no-show.
Cancellations due to inclement weather may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

Rate Update
This is a final reminder that the base rate for a full day of daycare will be $30 per dog, effective January 1st, 2026. The Founder’s Rate will no longer apply beginning that date.

Service Update – Saturday Solo Play
At this time, the Saturday Solo Play option will be removed. This service may become available again in the future.

Photo Policy Update
Daily Facebook photo posting will be discontinued for now to allow for more hands-on care throughout the day. Photo updates and report cards will remain available for purchase.
