Board & Train

My Board & Train program is a structured, balance-training experience designed to help dogs learn reliable manners, build confidence, and practice their skills in a real-world daycare environment. Dogs stay with me, participate in daycare during the day, and receive focused obedience training woven throughout their daily routine. 

This program is ideal for families who want a dog that listens consistently at home, out in public, and around distractions -- not just when treats are involved.

Your dog stays with me for 2-4 weeks depending on your goals. 

Each day includes a mix of:

• Individual obedience sessions (heel, recall, place, sit, down, impulse control)

• Structured social time in daycare

• Leash manners and handler engagement

• Controlled exposure to new sounds, dogs, and environments

• Kennel training and calm in the crate

• Rest periods and routine-building

At night, dogs sleep safely in kennels for structure, safety, and proper downtime. 

My program uses a modern, balanced method:

• Rewards and positive reinforcement first to teach behaviors

• Clear boundaries and fair corrections only after your dog understand what is being asked

• Training tools such as slip leads, prong collars, long lines, e-collars may be incorporated depending on your dog's needs and only after proper, low-pressure conditioning

  • LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive)

Balanced training is not about punishment; it's about communicating clearly and consistently so your dog knows what behaviors lead to success.

• Impulse control around dogs and people

• Calmness in high-stimulation environments

• Kennel manners

• Foundation for off-leash reliability (for e-collar programs)

Because training doesn't end at pickup, every program includes:

• Mid-program updates

• A detailed go-home lesson

• Video examples of cues and expectations

• Written instructions for maintaining progress

• Follow-up support after your dog returns home
