I'm a (psycho)linguist working on second/foreign language learning and teaching. I'm interested in the intersection between SLA, cognitive science, and language pedagogy, and how empirical research can inform language teaching and learning across educational contexts. My research combines learner corpus analysis, behavioral experiments, and cognitive modeling to explore how individuals process and learn languages.
I am part of the Instituto Universitario de Análisis y Aplicaciones Textuales (IATEXT), the Canarian node of CLARIAH-ES and a CLARIN Knowledge Centre (K-Centre). I am a committed advocate for open science, reproducibility, and the FAIR principles, and I actively promote transparent, sustainable research practices.
I received my PhD in Linguistics in May 2022 from the University of Potsdam (see my dissertation here). My supervisor was Shravan Vasishth. My PhD was funded through the project B02 of the SFB 1287 - Limits of Variability in Language. My dissertation presents the computational implementation and evaluation of sentence processing models across English and German speakers. Before that, I completed a MA in English Linguistics at Paris Diderot University, funded by a MIEM excellence grant, under the supervision of Nicolas Ballier. I was a visiting student at NYU Linguistics in 2017-2018, supported by a NYU GSAS Fellowship. I hold a BA in English and French Philology from the ULPGC and a MA in Teaching English in Secondary Eduaction from the UI1.
I have been granted a Sexenio de Investigación by CNEAI (ANECA). I can now supervise PhD students! Please reach out if you are interested | July 2025
