Ominous Gift is a personal project that I began working on at the start of 2023. At around July, I added my first teammate, who helped me a lot. Later, I reached out and added someone for music and sound, and also an artist. My artist, later, brought in their friend, another needed artist. I managed this team of 5 through weekly meetings on Discord.
The game was made in Unity, with C# through Visual Studio. I drew inspiration for the story and lore from a picture I had previously drawn.
I made the basic movement mechanics, the special movement mechanics, and even implemented the animations. I also made several significant enemy types with limited AI, all before I put my team together.
Soon after the team came together, we got into GitHub. Not long after, we began to implement Confluence and JIRA.
My music person moved into working on the sounds as well as music.
Though my team are all inexperienced, they have all worked hard to help me realize my vision.
