Instrument Information

Renting an instrument (especially for the first time) can be slightly overwhelming! The places listed below will help you each step of the way to make sure you are set up correctly with your instrument and accessories. If you are interested in purchasing an instrument instead of renting, you can talk to these representatives, or myself for any help! Having the correct instrument and set up is essential for proper rehearsing and music making!

Listed below are some recommendations on where to rent in the area!

Please refrain from purchasing any instruments from Amazon or any other online website that is not a music store. If you have any questions about instruments, please contact me directly!

Shoulder Rests

Shoulder rests are very important in proper posture with the violin. If we do not have a shoulder rest, the instrument might slip off of their shoulder, or cause unnecessary tension in their neck while they try to squeeze the violin in between the chin and shoulder.

If you are renting an instrument, there should be a sponge that came with your instrument. That works just fine for now! There are shoulder rests that attach to the violin so that way they do not slip around and always stay attached while playing. You can get these at the music store you are renting/bought from or even on Amazon. I have linked a brand that I recommend for students. If you have any questions, let me know!
