About the Orchestras

Pattonville is located In the suburbs of St. Louis County, Missouri. We begin strings in 5th Grade and go all the way through High School. At the high school level, we have four separate orchestras, divided roughly by playing ability, seniority, and dedication to the program over the years.

Throughout the year, we have plenty of concerts - some of which are conducted entirely by students! We also travel nearly every year to compete in festivals and learn from experts across the country; in fact, we took home first place Best Orchestra at our Chicago Competition last Spring (2022). Outside of school concerts, we have many students participate in private lessons and competitive orchestras throughout the area. But our favorite concert of the year is our Festival of Strings in which all string students throughout the district perform music both separately and together for a beautiful, communal experience.

If your family is moving to our district, and you would like to be a part of our program, please get in touch with one of us so we can make sure that you can be the best musician that you can be!

About the Director!

Mr. Rueschhoff began teaching in the Fall of 2021 and couldn’t be more excited to be doing it at Pattonville High School! He went to Truman State University and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts, and then stayed until he received his Master of Arts in Cello Performance, and Master of Arts in Education in December 2020. In college, he participated in the Truman State Symphony Orchestra, taught the String Methods Course for two years, conducted the Kirksville Community String Orchestra for two years, and won the Gold Medal Concerto Competition. He has performed with groups in the States, but also throughout Italy, and Costa Rica.

Mr. Rueschhoff grew up in Wildwood, right on the western edge of St. Louis County. He went to school in the Rockwood School District, and went to Lafayette High School. He began on violin in 4th grade, then cello in 5th and has never looked back! When he’s not playing or teaching, Mr. Rueschhoff loves to relax with a good video game, especially those on the Nintendo Switch. You can also find him out exploring the town with his friends, tending to his many new houseplants, or yelling at his cat for not sticking to her diet.
