The ISDRA Common Sense Access Coalition (ICSAC) was founded by Bob Mason and Vince Brunasso, two of the most dedicated advocates in the history of the Imperial Sand Dunes. With a combined track record spanning over 25 years in land-use leadership—including their pivotal work with the American Sand Association (ASA) and the California League of Off-Road Voters—Bob and Vince have been at the forefront of every major battle to keep the dunes open.
ICSAC is dedicated to the restoration of motorized access through data-driven management and the preservation of American military heritage. We believe that environmental stewardship and outdoor recreation are not mutually exclusive, but rather partners in "Common Sense Conservation."
Data Over Litigation: Moving past "sue and settle" era restrictions and using the BLM’s own current monitoring data to guide land-use decisions.
Honoring Our Heroes: Protecting and celebrating the history of the Patton Valley Corridor as a living memorial to the soldiers who trained there to secure global freedom.
Administrative Accountability: Utilizing Executive Order 14313 to ensure that bureaucratic overreach is corrected and that public lands remain open for the people.
ICSAC represents the thousands of families, veterans, and off-roaders who visit the ISDRA annually. We invite you to explore our findings, review the official reports, and join us in our mission to celebrate 250 years of American grit by restoring the Patton Valley Corridor for Veteran’s Day 2026.
Bob moved to Arizona in 1947 from Ohio at 14 and has been involved in OHV activity all of his life. He started duning in the early 60’s and has camped everywhere at ISDRA. He retired from the Salt River Project (water and power reclamation project) as the Manager of Water Planning after 38 years in various water and power operating and planning positions.
