Welcome

I am a Senior Economist in the Development Impact Evaluation Research Department (DEC/DIME) at the World Bank.

I lead the DIME social protection & jobs research program. I work on policy and applied economic research related to Poverty, Social Protection, Risk and Resilience; Economic Inclusion, Entrepreneurship and Jobs for the poor; as well as Human Capital and Early Childhood Development.

I study the effectiveness of policies to achieve the sustainable development goals, often embedding experiments in large-scale interventions in close collaboration with practitioners.

Besides research and analytics, I have led policy dialogue and technical assistance activities, as well as worked on the design, implementation and management of a range of World Bank operations.

I have previously held positions at the World Bank Social Protection & Jobs group of the Africa region, the Human Development Economics Unit of the Africa region, the Office of the Chief Economist for Human Development, and the Poverty Unit of the Latin America and Caribbean region.

During the 18/19 academic year, I was a guest researcher at ETH Zürich while on leave from the World Bank.

I hold a Licence in Economics (MSc) from the University of Lausanne, a MSc in Economics for Development and a DPhil in Economics from Oxford University.
