Students also created their own worry dolls, as we were studying Guatemala.
It is believed that if you have any worries, you can buy those mini dolls in Guatemala, called "quitapenas" and before going to bed, you place the dolls under your pillow and your worries are going to go away by the morning.
In Guatelama, they can buy a bag of mini dolls - each doll addresses a particular worry.
See picture on the left, with student created dolls. The cards explained about their worries.
We had a guest speaker, Mrs. Vivian Bryant, visiting our classwork. She spoke about her days living in Guatemala on a coffee farm.
The students heard her presentation and wrote an essay:" All About Guatemala."
The students were really excited to see places they have studied in our book (Espanol, by Santillana) in a real picture.
