The second step in the prescription filling process is Data or Clinical Verification.
When a new prescription has been entered into the pharmacy system, the pharmacist must verify that the prescription data was entered correctly. This is called Data Verification (D/V for short).
When a prescription renewal/refill request is sent to the pharmacist, the status of the prescription becomes C/V (short for Clinical Verification).
The D/V and C/V steps do not require any action from the pharmacy assistant.
