Nothing.
Everything.
Time.
Timeless.
In the beginning, there was chaos, a realm of opposites where time and timelessness coexisted. Out of this chaotic void emerged the concept of opposites, shaping the very fabric of existence. Among these opposing forces were Jua and Mwezi, the sun and the moon. Initially, they were mere abstracts, embodiments of light and darkness.
As time passed, Jua illuminated the universe with her radiant light, while Mwezi brought forth the cloak of darkness. Together, they maintained balance in the cosmos. However, as eons went by, they grew weary of their solitary existence, longing for something more.
In their wisdom, they created Asili, a being fashioned in their image, from whom the Earth was formed. Asili breathed life into the world, ushering in cycles of nature with Jua's sunlight and Mwezi's tides and waters. For a time, harmony prevailed as the celestial beings worked in tandem.
Yet, discord arose when Mwezi expressed a desire to create life independently, leading to disagreements with Jua. In response, Asili took matters into her own hands, giving birth to the first creatures, including lions, in the image of their celestial creators. These creatures thrived under the balance of light and darkness, finding sustenance and rest in their respective realms.
As life flourished, Jua and Mwezi sought to elevate certain beings, bestowing them with blessings to showcase their power. Thus, the tales of the gods began, with some lions drawn to Mwezi's tides and others to Jua's forests.
Through visions and divine interventions, the presence of the gods became known, shaping the beliefs and destinies of the mortal creatures. And so, the lions divided, each aligning themselves with the gods they revered, and so the guilds were created.

Ardhi Ya Mesa, commonly known as The Mesa, extends beyond the cliff range of the Jioni Guild, presenting a vast desert landscape characterized by scorching temperatures and arid conditions. Rainfall is a rarity in this region, contributing to its parched environment, where termite mounds and hoodoos dot the sandy terrain. Despite the harsh climate, The Mesa teems with life adapted to its arid conditions, including resilient desert creatures. While hunting in The Mesa is cautioned against due to its challenging environment, it remains a viable option for those daring enough to venture into its unforgiving expanse.
Mabonde Ya Samaki, also known as Samaki Cliffs, stands as a formidable range of cliffs that serve as the habitat for the Jioni Guild. Stretching along the expansive south coast, these cliffs boast a formidable presence, their sheer drop-offs and rugged terrain deterring outsiders. Only birds brave the heights of the cliffs, leaving the Jioni Guild lions to navigate the treacherous landscape. To secure their sustenance, the lions must either brave the waters near their cliff dwellings or journey across the cliffs to the Preri for hunting. The climate atop the cliffs is characterized by its chilliness, often shrouded in clouds with frequent rainfall, adding to the challenge of life in this rugged environment.
Eneo La Preri, commonly referred to as Preri, stands as a sprawling savannah environment teeming with life in the world of O'shye. Characterized by its vast, flat landscape, Preri offers plentiful hunting grounds and serves as the primary habitat for much of the game species in the region. However, its expansive openness also makes it a strategic location during times of conflict, often becoming a battlefield due to its visibility and ease of observing oncoming battles across the flat terrain.
Eneo Lenye Vilima, commonly known as Vilima, stands as a hilly region within the expansive Preri landscape of O'shye. Here, the larger game of O'shye finds its home, drawn to the varied terrain and ample resources. However, caution is advised for younger members of the guilds, as the area is fraught with danger. The Vilima is bordered by rivers where territorial disputes between crocodiles and hippos frequently occur, posing a significant risk to unsuspecting individuals venturing near the water's edge.
Nyumba Ya Jangwani, or the Jangwani, serves as the home of the Sun Guild, enveloped by the dense canopy of a sprawling rainforest. In this lush environment, the sun's rays pierce through the foliage with relentless intensity, casting dappled shadows on the humid forest floor. While the rainforest teems with diverse life forms, it presents formidable challenges for hunting, prompting caution among members of the Alfajiri guild. Large expeditions into the jungle require concerted efforts and cooperation to navigate its treacherous terrain and secure sustenance amidst the dense vegetation and lurking predators.
Msitu Wa Mkutano, known simply as the Msitu, holds a sacred significance as the communal meeting ground for all guilds, revered by inhabitants across O'shye. According to ancient lore, it was within these hallowed grounds that the first lions of the guilds convened, forging bonds of peace and unity. Monthly gatherings and diplomatic negotiations unfold beneath the sheltering canopy of the Msitu, where discussions shape the course of inter-guild relations. The sanctity of this revered space is upheld by strict prohibitions against violence, as it is believed that the vigilant gaze of the gods perpetually watches over the Msitu. Any transgression into conflict within its bounds is met with swift and severe consequences, often resulting in banishment from the guilds.
