If you're a newcomer to this lore-filled world, you might be feeling a little overwhelmed when first looking at all the information we have to offer. Don't worry! You don't have to know everything here in order to get started.
All you got to know is the basics and if you want to learn more from there, you can! Below, we've tried to break up the information as best we can into bite-sized chunks to make this as easy as possible. Just follow our beginner's roadmap and you should be all set!
The very first thing any newcomer has to do when first joining the server is verify. This is a very simple process meant to keep our community as safe as we can from trolls, bullies, hackers, etc.
When you first join, you will be automatically given the role "newcomer." This role limits what you can see and do. At first, you will only be able to view the information tabs and the ticket channels. One of these is named "verification," which is where you will need to go. Fill out the provided form, open a ticket, and then send that form in the channel that is created. Staff members will be automatically tagged so one will be with you as soon as they can to assess your form. Sometimes this can take a few hours since we all lead eventful lives, so patience is appreciated. If no discrepancies are found and you are accepted, you will be given the "verified newcomer" role. This will give you access to the general channels and the character creation category. Until you submit a character, you will be unable to view the roleplay portion. This is where your journey begins!
Obviously, everyone must be familiar with the rules and requirements of the server. If you aren't, I would recommend giving those a read now. While they do contain a lot of "common sense" rules such as not being rude, getting along, and so on, they also contain a lot of rules specific to us like our policies on characters being played with mental illnesses/disabilities, our correction policies for rule breaks - you get the idea.
After you've read our rules and whatnot, you're ready to begin your journey of discovery! The easiest way to filter the information you need in order to create your first character is to know which guild you want to make one for! If you've already made up your mind, then great! If not, take a peek at the questionnaire linked below. Try and answer the questions like you are the character you're wanting to make, be it a hot-headed warrior or a cool-minded peacekeeper.
If you'd rather take a look at their synopsis below to decide, then keep scrolling and take a peek!
The Jioni Guild, named after the Swahili word for "nightfall," thrives under the serene and mystical influence of the moon deity, Mwezi. Led by a monarch chosen by divine favor, the guild embraces the tranquility and wisdom of the moon, embodying qualities of introspection, intuition, and adaptability in their daily pursuits. From dusk until dawn, members of the Jioni Guild engage in a diverse array of activities, including storytelling, stargazing, and nocturnal hunts, all under the enchanting glow of their lunar patron. With a deep connection to the rhythms of nature and the mysteries of the night sky, the guild fosters a sense of harmony and interconnectedness, much like the moon's gentle embrace guides travelers through the darkness.
The Alfajiri Guild, named after the Swahili word for "sunrise," is a thriving community deeply rooted in reverence for the radiant sun deity, Jua. Led by a monarch chosen by divine blessing, the guild embraces the warmth and energy of the sun, reflecting its qualities of vitality, strength, and resilience in their daily lives. From the break of dawn until dusk, members of the Alfajiri Guild engage in a variety of activities, including hunting, fishing, and spiritual rituals, all under the watchful gaze of their solar patron. With a strong sense of unity and purpose, the guild embodies the spirit of new beginnings and endless possibilities, much like the rising sun heralds the start of a new day.
Once you've decided what group you'd like to aim for with your first character, now it's time to read up on them a little more in detail! Take a look at our handbooks to do so:
Now that you are 100% sure which guild you'd like to create a lion for, it's time to turn your attention to the Character Creation Guidelines. These are the rules you must keep in mind while creating your character. If any of these are violated, you will be asked to correct your form. There is a template provided within the server for you to use and fill out. Once this is done, send it in the submission channel and then wait for staff approval. This template comes in the form of a google document that is simplified to be mobile friendly. While you are required to fill this out in the format provided, you are more than welcome to have another with it that is dressed up and decorated to your heart's content in addition.

Where your character goes and what they do from here is entirely up to you! Solo-writing (Where you roleplay by yourself) is allowed if you purchase a "Solo Pass" from our server shop. If you'd like to find someone to roleplay with, we have a "seeking-roleplay" channel and a corresponding tag specifically for that! Once you are on your way, there's no telling where your story will lead!
There can only be one scene taking place in a channel. The exception to these are channels marked with a star. These are considered common areas where more than one scene can be happening at once purely because it is an area where multiple characters would reasonably be at one point in time. Only non-marked areas in the territories are considered "claimable" where only one scene should be happening at a time. From there, they can go anywhere within their territory. Straying into another guild's territory can potentially cause trouble, so keep that in mind when writing. Some areas will be open whereas others may be high-tension spots ripe for conflict.
There are also systems in place to spice up your roleplaying. These are not optional and if you are not used to them, there are full tutorials available in the server and also here on this website. If you are struggling, don't hesitate to tag an active staff member and ask for help. These systems are used in hunting, gathering, and exploring to find things. All they are is commands that give you a prompt to base a reply off of. Simple enough, right? If you'd like to take a look at what these commands are, just take a peek through this button:
