Brienna Parsons is a communist running as a Democrat because she believes in transparency, integrity, and above all, democracy.
Parsons would never put profit over people at the detriment of our communities. likely Carter has with his connections to the “Opportunity Caucus” and the untraceable funds spent by the dark money group “One Main Street,” which spent over $800,000 to support his incumbent position.
Brienna positions herself as the choice for "Integrity" against "Corruption".⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾
The “sweeping ethics complaint involving bribery and corruption” that has rocked the Colorado political establishment centers on the caucus Carter "proudly stands with".
Parsons emphasizes that her movement is independent and focused on “Real transparency” in how decisions and dollars are spent, unlike the "old way of doing business—backroom deals".
Parsons often frames the choice before voters as one between the “same corrupt politics, or a new path built on principle,” using the scandal as a critical turning point.
Brienna Parsons believes that issues like the housing crisis are a “direct result of capitalist speculation” or that capitalism is the core obstacle to fully funding public education. She advocates for "Economic Democracy" and "Workplace Democracy".
While both candidates address housing affordability, Parsons could challenge Michael Carter’s plans (like refining zoning changes) by arguing that only radical measures like the “abolition of property in land” and expanding publicly-owned housing will resolve the crisis.
Parsons believes that you cannot also claim to be a Democrat any longer in these United States if you do not oppose war. She is the only candidate with the clarion call to cancel all state contracts with military contractors like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, and put military and weapons contractors in the iron sights of the law.
Both candidates, Brienna Parsons and Michael Carter state plans to end the use of private prisons and end cooperation with ICE, specifically working to remove the GEO facility in Aurora. Parsons could acknowledge this shared goal, then pivot to her ultimate demand: the full abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She is open to collaborating in any way necessary to protect her neighbors.
She has been spending time protesting and attending vigils due to its proximity and understands that perhaps Carter couldn't make it out in the same way, but the community is seeking assurances, and Parsons wishes to fight for these demands with or without him.
Brienna Parsons and Michael Carter are also both supported by unions and rank-and-file members because they both claim a mutual goal to strengthen unions. However, Parsons insists that true worker power requires the repeal of the Colorado Labor Peace Act and the organization of a general strike. She is demanding Carter support these more revolutionary measures to put an end to the status quo that claims lives, in so many ways, every day.
Brienna Parsons couldn't compete as a freelancer in a media market eaten up by large soulless corporations. She understands that the fat cats at the top cause sectoral inflation that's passed down onto customers. No different than the capitalists and gentrification and their effect on housing.
