Every medical school has a different list of required courses, so check the prerequisites for each school you are interested in applying to. Here is the general course list I have seen in my experience:
2 semesters of chemistry + lab
2 semesters of calculus
2 semesters of physics + lab
2 semesters of biology + lab
1 or 2 semesters of organic chemistry (sometimes + lab)
1 semester of sociology
1 semester of psychologyÂ
Each university has different pre-medical programs; some restrict your major options, others exist as "add-ons" you can do with any major. Keep in mind that, if you can choose your own major, you should pick what interests you most; I recently spoke with the President of a medical school who suggested that even humanity majors can properly prepare students for medical school!
