This notice explains how Park Blitz handles information from children under 13, as required by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It's also in the app under Parent settings.
Who runs the app: Andrew Abdallah, 2147 Tallapoosa Dr, Duluth, GA 30097, (404) 771-8650, parkblitz@outlook.com.
Without parent consent (kid mode): your child can play every game. The app uses a nickname your child picks (please help them choose one that isn't their real name), an animal avatar, a random anonymous ID and game information such as team and votes. Your child never shares location.
Chat: your child can read the chat of games they're in, and can only send ready-made phrases and stickers, never typed messages, photos or videos. Chat is only with players the host let in; the host must approve everyone who joins. Chat is deleted with the game. In some Hide & Seek games, a host aged 13+ can turn on Hunter chat, which only the hunters can read; your child still only sends ready-made phrases and stickers there, a child can't turn it on, and each message is deleted automatically after it expires 24 hours after it's sent. Photos, videos and profile pictures are switched off for everyone.
Player ID: the Me tab shows your child's anonymous player ID (no name or contact details). Copying it needs the parent check.
Pictures, clips and links: your child uses an animal avatar, never a photo. Profile pictures are switched off for everyone right now, so nobody in a game has one. Your child can block any player. "Send us clips" and all other links out of the app are hidden for your child, except in the parent-gated Parent settings. You can turn chat and sending clips off on the phone in Parent settings.
Grown-up watching: an adult (18 or older) can join a Hide & Seek game as a watcher, only if the host lets them in, and every phone in the game shows who is watching. Watchers can't play, chat or change the game. Players choose whether to share their location with the watcher; your child can only after you give verified parental consent (see How consent works).
What consent allows: only location for Hide & Seek add-ons (map pings, play zone, hot / cold, sharing with a grown-up watching the game) and Places to play. Location is rounded, shared only with players in the same game while the game is on, and deleted when the game ends.
How consent works: location and Places to play stay off for your child until you give verified parental consent. On your child's phone, open Parent settings → Parent consent, read this notice, switch on "I'm the parent or legal guardian and I agree", type your email address and tap Send me the parent check. Kids Web Services (KWS), a parental verification service run by Epic Games, emails you and checks that you're an adult (for example with the last four digits of your Social Security number or a small card charge that is refunded). When KWS confirms it, location and Places to play turn on for your child by themselves. Typing the four numbers or your PIN to open Parent settings is not consent on its own.
What we keep about consent: only that a parent consented, which version of this notice you agreed to, the date and KWS's reference number for the check, linked to your child's anonymous ID. We never store your email address: it goes through our server straight to KWS, which handles it under its own privacy policy. KWS receives your email, your country and your child's anonymous ID, never your child's name or location.
Withdrawing consent: open Parent settings → Parent consent and tap Turn off location at any time. Location and Places to play turn off again, and your child can keep playing in kid mode. Delete my data also removes the consent record.
Feedback and Places to play: your child picks ready-made feedback messages instead of typing. Looking up or adding a place to play needs verified parental consent, so it stays locked until you give consent. With consent, a child adding a place can search for it by name: the words typed in that search box are sent to OpenStreetMap's free search service (Nominatim) to find the place, with a rough area (about 50 km) but never your child's nickname, ID or exact location.
Crash reports: if the app crashes, it sends us a short anonymous report (the error, the kind of screen, phone system and app version) so we can fix it. It never includes your child's nickname, ID, game code, location or chats, and we delete it after 90 days.
Ads: the free version shows ads on the Home and Results screens only, never during a game or in chat. For your child, ad requests are tagged as child-directed, limited to G-rated ads and never personalized. Your child is never asked to allow tracking: on iPhone, only players 13 or older see Apple's "allow tracking" question, and it stays off unless they tap Allow. Google AdMob receives the technical information any ad request includes (such as device type and IP address). Premium removes ads.
Teens (13 to 17) on iPhone: your teen is asked once whether to allow tracking for personalized ads. It's off unless they tap Allow, nothing in the game depends on it, and you can turn it off in iPhone Settings > Park Blitz > Allow Tracking, or for all apps in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking (Screen Time can lock that setting).
Purchases: your child must get a parent past the parent check before seeing prices or buying. Subscriptions renew until cancelled in the store settings. You can also use Apple's Ask to Buy or Google Family Link.
How long data is kept: game information is deleted when the host ends the game. If a host never ends a game, it expires 24 hours after it starts and is then deleted from our server automatically, usually within another 24 hours. See "How long we keep information" in our Privacy Policy.
Who else gets data: Google Firebase and Google Cloud run the game server for us, Google AdMob serves ads, RevenueCat records purchases, and Kids Web Services by Epic Games runs the parent check. OpenStreetMap's Nominatim search receives only the words typed when searching for a place to add. We never use children's information for personalized ads or tracking, and never sell it.
Your rights: you can review your child's information, ask us to delete it, refuse further collection, and withdraw any consent at any time without stopping your child from playing. Use Parent settings in the app (Delete my data), or contact us at parkblitz@outlook.com or (404) 771-8650.
