As members of the Park of Forest Green HOA, we adhere to architectural consistency and standards to maintain and enhance our property values. Our Bylaws and Declaration of Restrictions, initially established by our developer, provide these guidelines. Upon purchasing a home in our HOA, homeowners automatically become HOA members and agree to uphold these standards as outlined in our governing documents.
Our Architecture Committee, comprised of volunteer HOA members, oversees the approval process for any changes to the exterior of homes. Please review the steps below and refer to additional sections as necessary. Click the "Architecture Form" button to submit your request.

External paint generally lasts between 5-10 years on average in Kansas depending on the quality of the application and material used. Deck Stain lasts between 1-3 years. It’s always good practice to budget well in advance of when you need to start repainting especially with the increased cost of paint and quality painters.
Paint and stain color changes must be approved in advance by Architecture Committee. Complete Architecture requests with clear detail on the stain color/brand will allow for quicker approval. Key details are important to quicker turnaround:
Attach pictures of swatches to your Architecture request. We may request you to paint 2 ft x 2 ft color samples on your house for Architecture Committee to Review.
Get 3 adjacent neighbors to review your color selections and get approval prior to submitting to HOA. Getting approval of your proposed color or stain changes with your adjacent neighbors helps avoid concerns.
Provide those names and phone numbers of those neighbors for HOA verification.
We do not have a list of colors that are pre-approved for this subdivision.
Clearly label color swatches painted on house so that when the committee comes by they know what they are reviewing.
The HOA has two approved fence designs. One is metal/wrought iron and the second is a wood option that comes in two heights. We highly recommend all new and replacement fences be metal due to ongoing maintenance and have found costs to be very similar. We do not allow chain link in the design.
Please click on FENCE DESIGN section of this website and review prior to submitting the Architecture Request. You are not allowed to deviate from what is approved by the Architecture committee.
From our Park at Forest Green Declaration of Restrictions August 25, 1998 9(h):
9. Buildings or Uses Other Than for Residential Purposes; Noxious Activities; Miscellaneous
(h) No television, radio, citizens’ band, short wave or other antenna, satellite dish (other than as provided below), solar panel, clothes line or pole, or other unsightly projection shall be attached to the exterior of any residence or Exterior Structure or erected in any yard. Should any part or all of the restriction set forth in the preceding sentence be held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable because it violates the First Amendment or any other provision of the United States Constitution, the Architectural Committee shall have the right to establish rules and regulations regarding the location, size, landscaping and other aesthetic aspects of such projections so as to reasonably control the impact of such projections on the Subdivision, and all parts thereof, and any such rules and regulations shall be binding upon all of Lots. Notwithstanding any provision in this Declaration to the contrary, small satellite dishes (maximum 20 inches in diameter) may be installed, with the prior written consent of the Approving Party, so as not to be readily visible from the street. The Approving Party shall have the right to establish rules and regulations binding upon all of the Lots and specific requirements for each Lot, regarding the location, size, landscaping, and other aesthetic aspects of such small satellite dishes so as to control the impact thereof on the Subdivision, and all parts thereof
Basketball goals must be installed and not freestanding. Recreational or play structures beyond basketball goals should be behind the back of the residence building line.
Overnight parking of motor vehicles should be in the garage or paved driveways, not in the public street or common areas (e.g., at the pool).
No overnight parking of 12,000 lb+ trucks, trailers, boats, recreational vehicles/campers, or similar except in the garage. Trailers cannot be stored outside overnight. 12,000+ lb Trucks or commercial vehicles can be in the driveway when being used for the specific use intended (e.g, moving truck loading/unloading). RVs of any type can be temporarily parked for loading/unloading a maximum of one consecutive night and one night every 14 days unless express prior written approval from the architecture committee.
Exterior holiday lights are permitted between November 15 and January 31. We don’t take issue with occasional exterior lighting color change (e.g. going blue on a Royals game day or red on Chiefs game day) but do want it to be white exterior lighting the remainder of the year. All exterior landscape lighting should be approved in advance.
Trash cans can be outside the residence the night before trash pickup day and must not be visible after Sundown on trash day. Please be considerate of your neighbors and only have your trash out on these times and make arrangements when you are out of town to get them brought in.
