Dear Marching Band and Color Guard Families,

It was so nice to see so many families attend the Family Preview Night and Potluck this past Friday. Here is a brief review of upcoming activities for our students and some information that you may find helpful. In case you were unable to attend the potluck, enclosed is an agenda for Band Backers Meeting that was conducted during the potluck.

• What to do if your child missed pictures — get with a Director. They will issue their uniform to you and work with you on getting a time to take their picture at Reed Portrait Studio.

• Marching Band and Guard will participate in the Parkville Days Parade on August 20th. Band directors will send specifics regarding that event in a future email. Please plan to come to the parade to support our students.

• We will have a fundraiser with Savers Thrift Store: Items that they will accept:

Clothes: men's, women's and children's clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, ties, belts, backpacks, etc.

Household Textiles: bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.

Please gather clothes and household textiles in 30-gallon bags. All items must be clean and in saleable condition. If they have garage sale pricing tags, those must be removed.

• Payment to attend the football games: Your child will not need to pay to attend the home football games. The admission fee for adults is $5

• Senior Recognition Night: We will have a special recognition night for all of our Band and Guard seniors during the September 1st evening rehearsal. Students will practice from 7:00 - 8:00 and then we will have our recognition celebration after the rehearsal. Please plan to come to celebrate our seniors! Senior families will get more specific information regarding logistics for the evening in a separate email.
