In-Person Meetings

In-person meetings are a chance for us to share what we’ve accomplished at our schools, discuss challenges, and plan district- or state-wide education and advocacy projects. We welcome anyone interested in school preparedness to participate.

About our Meetings

Choose how to participate.

We meet monthly, alternating between two topics. We have Work Group meetings and Advocacy Group meetings. Attend either or both!

Work Group Goals: Learn from each others’ experience doing seismic safety work at schools. Add to our body of knowledge. Collaborate on projects that will benefit multiple schools.
Advocacy Group Goals: Expand outreach to underrepresented schools. Continue to engage with media to advance our cause. Advocate for systemic change through PPS, MESD, NWESD, State of Oregon, etc.

Before coming to a meeting...

We are eager to welcome you to our group. Since we don't meet often and there are so many things to discuss, we've found it's helpful for newcomers to read our Lessons Learned document before attending a meeting. This helps provide some context so you can jump in with your questions and share your experience with us.

2019-2020 Schedule

Meetings will be held on the 3rd Sunday of every month from 7-8:30pm at the Historic Kenton Firehouse (8105 N Brandon Ave). We;re working on finding a video conferencing option for those who can’t attend in person. Stay tuned.
