Calling parents of primary school age children!
We are currently collecting data for our survey on parental engagement in primary school assessments.
What this survey is about
We are inviting parents/caregivers of primary school children in Singapore to share your views and experiences with school assessments (e.g., quizzes, projects, bite-sized assessments, end-of-year exams, PSLE). Your responses will help us understand how parents look at and understand assessment results and how schools and families can work together to support children’s learning. The findings will be reported to the Ministry of Education for their consideration in policy decisions.
What you will do
You will answer questions about:
What you think assessments are for (beliefs and appropriate use)
How to understand common school assessments and decide what to do next
Your confidence and practices in supporting your child at home and with the school
What the assessment is like at your child’s school and other factors that influence support at home
What resources or support for parents would be most useful
Basic background questions about you and your child (e.g., level, languages at home)
Estimated time: 10-15 minutes.
Parent voices matter!
