I am currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Mathematics in the University of British Columbia (UBC), working under the supervision of Dr. Elina Robeva. I began my PhD program in September 2022. In April 2024, I became a Vanier Scholar, and my research has been supported by the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship since May 2024.
Before beginning my work as a PhD student at UBC, I was fortunate enough to work with Dr. Robeva as a MSc student at UBC from September 2020 to August 2022. Here is a link to my master's thesis.
Prior to joining UBC, I received a BSc in Mathematics from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Isfahan, Iran. I was a student at IUT from September 2016 to July 2020.
My research lies at the intersection of statistical inference, applied algebraic geometry, combinatorics, and algebraic statistics. I develop causal discovery methods in both temporal and non-temporal settings, and study parametric and non-parametric density estimation problems under various structural constraints. In addition to more conventional tools, I draw on tools from algebraic geometry, multilinear and nonlinear algebra, and rough path theory to approach these problems.
