Elina Robeva and I organized the Women in Mathematics of Data Science Workshop, which was a 10-day research-focused workshop, and took place on August 4-14, 2026 at the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia. This workshop gathered 5 female leaders in the field of Mathematics of Data Science as well as a group of junior participants. The participants were split into groups and worked on research projects proposed by the group leaders together. Participants spent most of the time working on their research problem with 1 to 2 hours per day devoted to project presentations and short talks. During the workshop, participants had many hours of focused, uninterrupted and in-person collaboration. Our hope is that these meetings will continue beyond the workshop and ultimately lead to published papers on the proposed topics of research.
