Elina Robeva and I are organizing the Workshop for Women in Mathematics of Data Science, which is a 10-day research-focused workshop, and will take place on August 4-14, 2026 at the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia. This workshop gathers several female leaders in the field of Mathematics of Data Science as well as a group of junior participants. The participants will be split into groups and work on research projects proposed by the group leaders together. Participants will spend most of the time working on their research problem with 1 to 2 hours per day devoted to project presentations and short talks. During the workshop, participants will have many hours of focused, uninterrupted and in-person collaboration. Our hope is that these meetings will continue beyond the workshop and ultimately lead to published papers on the proposed topics of research.
