This pictorial site records the projects and builds done with and for my family. Lately focusing on the grand kids. I like to build things and would like to give the young people in the world some confidence to try to build/repair and not just buy and replace. You never know where these skills may help out some day.
It's also a bit of a memory book. I've captured some images of current and past interests and presented some of the highlights here -- perhaps so I'll remember in my old age. I didn't want to go too far with this site such that it became a dump of all the crap I've done in my life, so I hope I didn't go too nuts -- just focused on a few key pleasures (cars, planes, and building things) as they related to my family.
The site header picture above is hands down one of my favorites. Maggy and I are about to weld the go kart frame. Look at those eyes. My son took a video of us welding and if I can find it, I'll post it as well. Very sweet. I will admit I had Schumacher dreams when this project started -- the first female Formula 1 driver to win the drivers championship. Probably not -- but a Grandpa can dream, can't he?
Restoration, racing, and a look at some of my rides.
Model rocketry, Arduino, go-karts, toy builds. All the fun things we build in Papi's Garage.
Various woodworking projects and builds on the second floor of the garage.
A little taste of what the garage allows me to do along with some garage projects.
I wasn't going to go here, but looking back it seems that aviation was a big part of my life. To the left is the NASA F-15 Active program. I modeled a RC Jet after this plane. The Folks at Nasa Dryden Research were a huge help to me sending all sorts of documentation and pictures. Namely, that front canard is actually an F18 stabilator. This was done before the days of the Internet too.
