Georgios Pantouris, Principal Investigator
Associate Professor of Chemistry
Georgios was born in Cyprus, a small island with a rich history that is located in the Eastern Mediterranean . After serving in the Cypriot National Guard, he obtained his BSc in Chemistry at the University of Patra and MSc in Molecular Pathology at the University of Middlesex. He pursued doctoral studies at the University of Edinburgh, receiving a PhD in Chemistry in 2012. He was a postdoctoral associate (2012-2017) and associate research scientist (2017-2019) in Pharmacology at Yale University studying the structural and functional characteristics of macromolecules and macromolecular assemblies with immunomodulatory function. He joined the University of the Pacific in the summer of 2019.
We are always seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and hard-working people to join our team. Members of the Pantouris lab will gain expertise in protein expression, purification and characterization, protein X-ray crystallography, protein dynamics, protein engineering, small molecule high-throughput screening, an array of in vitro biochemical and biophysical assays, in vivo assays and computational chemistry.
Undergraduate Students
Interested undergraduates should inquire with Georgios directly. Undergraduates interested to join our lab must commit to at least two semesters of research (>10 hrs per week).
