I’m in 11th grade at Palo Alto High School, and I row competitively outside of school, which is where I have found my main community. I also love cooking, and enjoy painting, creating and building things, and playing guitar. I have babysat since I was 11, and I actually have run virtual cooking camps since the beginning of the pandemic, and have interacted with over 200 children through these camps on Zoom. I also wrote a book for children, and after publishing my book on Amazon, I’ve given a few “book talks” at schools, and sold copies at book fairs and libraries.
I took ECD because I've always loved kids, and I was (and still am) really interested in learning about the best ways to support children during their development. I have loved learning about the developmental stages of children, and which skills and emotions develop at different ages. ECD has taught me the importance of play in early childhood education, and the long-term benefits that ample play can have on a child. I have loved interacting with preschoolers this year, and am super excited to continue learning about how to best support the kids I'm with!
