The goal of this program is to assist communities in their health problems in line with the mission of Ateneo de Zamboanga University - School of Medicine which is to to help provide solutions to the health problems of the people and communities of Western Mindanao and beyond.
The student doctors are in charge of assisting the barangay officials in creating, implementing, promoting health practices in the community. They are guided by a community coordinator stationed in their current municipality and a community preceptor in charge of coordinating with the local government unit in their area.
Student enrolled in Ateneo de Zamboanga University - School of Medicine's program are required to spend 1 month in their assigned area to assist and help provide solutions to improve the community's quality of life.
The student doctors are licensed professionals who had undergone undergraduate studies and are assisted by licensed Medical doctors with a Masters in Public Health degree.
The student doctors will be collaborating with the local government unit, health workers, and other local agencies in their area to determine health problems and provide solutions to the said problems present in the community.
