The Ateneo de Zamboanga University School of Medicine exists to help provide solutions to the health problems of the people and communities of Western Mindanao and beyond; therefore, it will to strive to produce competent graduates who, in the practice of their medical profession, are self-directing physicians, effective health administrators, health researchers, and committed medical teachers.
Meeting with the Council of Brgy. Tomitom for possible programs and ordinances to eradicate or minimize the health problems in Brgy Tomitom.
The team assisted in Covid vaccination, Extended immunization program, and prenatal check up in Brgy. Tomitom health center.

Where we are today...
Our team had 3 community exposures in Brgy. Tomitom and we have successfully gathered secondary data from the local agencies and primary data from approximately 92% of the total number of households in 3 puroks. Along with the help of the residents, we have now identified the 5 major problems in Brgy. Tomitom. These problems were presented to the local officials as well as the preceptors involved in assisting the medical students in formulating health plans. 3 out of 5 health problems are presently being addressed namely: Hypertension, Solid Waste Management, and Lack of Health Services.
