All are welcome to submit their manuscripts for main conference papers and posters. Full papers are required for submission. Intending participants may submit a maximum of one (1) paper as primary author, and one (1) paper as non-primary author.
Upon the announcement of the Organizing Committee, accepted papers presented at the conference may be submitted for review into this year's conference proceedings entitled Proceedings of the 38th Pacific Asia Conference on Language, Information and Computation. We only accept full papers for the manuscript submission. Submissions must follow the ACL 2024 two-column format in style files appropriately tailored for ACL proceedings. Full formatting guidelines can be found here.
The only allowed style files are as follows:
Please do not modify these style files, and do not use other platforms (e.g., Google Docs for Word files) and templates designed for other conferences. Submissions that do not conform to the required styles including paper size, margin width, and font size restrictions will be rejected without review.
Papers may consist of up to eight (8) pages of content, excluding references, appendices, and acknowledgments. Submissions will be judged based on relevance, technical strength, scholarly significance, and interest to the attendees.
As the review process will be blind, authors must not indicate their names and affiliations in the papers. Submissions that do not conform to this requirement will be rejected without review.

- Self-references or links (e.g., GitHub) that reveal the author’s identity, e.g., “We previously showed (Smith, 1991) …” must be avoided. Instead, use citations such as “Smith (1991) previously showed …”
- Documents that are not available to the reviewers must not be cited. For example, do not omit or redact important citation information to preserve anonymity. Instead, use third person or named reference to this work, as described above (“Smith showed” rather than “we showed”).
- If important citations are not available to reviewers (e.g., awaiting publication), these paper/s should be anonymized and included in the appendix. They can then be referenced from the submission without compromising anonymity.
- Papers accompanied by a resource (e.g., software, data) described in the paper should also be anonymized.

The author list for submissions should include all (and only) individuals who made substantial contributions to the work presented. Each author listed on a submission to PACLIC 38 (2024) will be notified of submissions, revisions, and the final decision. No changes to the order or composition of authorship may be made after the paper submission deadline.

- Double or multiple submissions with other conferences/workshops may be allowed, but the authors are asked to declare it at submission time. This will be taken into account in the review process.
- Authors are required to honor the ethical code set out in the ACL Code of Ethics. The consideration of the ethical impact of our research, use of data, and potential applications of our work has always been an important consideration, and as artificial intelligence is becoming more mainstream, these issues are increasingly pertinent. We ask that all authors read the code, and ensure that their work is conformant to this code. Where a paper may raise ethical issues, we ask that you include in the paper an explicit discussion of these issues, which will be taken into account in the review process. We reserve the right to reject papers on ethical grounds, where the authors are judged to have operated counter to the code of ethics, or have inadequately addressed legitimate ethical concerns with their work.

The Proceedings of the 38th Pacific Asia Conference on Language, Information and Computation will be published in open-access digital formats. Past PACLIC proceeding papers have been indexed in Scopus since PACLIC 19 (2005) and listed in ACL Anthology. According to Google Scholar, PACLIC conference proceedings currently have an h5-index of 13 and an h5-median of 19.
All accepted papers must be presented at the conference—either on-line or in-person—in order to appear in the proceedings. Authors of papers accepted for presentation at PACLIC 38 (2024) must notify the program chairs by the camera-ready deadline if they wish to withdraw the paper.
There is no publication fee; submissions for the proceedings undergo rigorous blind peer-review.

Submissions for the proceeding review must follow the paper format required for manuscript submissions as indicated in the previous section. This includes author anonymity and must abide by the ACL ethics policy.
