5th Grade or 10-11 Yrs
The Arrow of Light, the highest Cub Scout rank, is earned by 5th graders as a bridge to Scouts BSA. Its goal is to prepare Scouts for the next stage by building leadership, independence, outdoor skills, fitness, citizenship, first aid knowledge, and spiritual values. Through required and elective adventures, Scouts gain hands-on experience, learn how a troop operates, and develop the confidence and character needed for a smooth and successful transition into Scouts BSA.
The Webelos program has two major milestones - the Webelos rank badge to be earned at the 4th grade level and the Arrow of Light to be earned at the 5th grade. The final part of Webelos is bridging over into a Scouting America troop selected individually by the scout.
