Get ready for a fantastic adventure this month! We're headed to Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) for on November 18th for a solemn wreath-laying ceremony and an optional History Hike. Here are the key details:
🌟 Arlington National Cemetery (ANC)
📍 Where: ANC, 1 Memorial Ave, Fort Myer, VA 22211
🚗 Parking: ANC parking facility, $3 per hour, $12 maximum for passenger vehicles

🕒 Schedule:
12:00-12:15: Meet at ANC Welcome Center
12:15: Begin the walk to President John F. Kennedy Gravesite
1:15: Pack wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
Return to Welcome Center via McClellan Gate

🚶 Optional History Hike 🏛️
🏞️ BSA National Capital Area Council - National History of Scouting Trail (HOST) - History Hike /www.ncacbsa.org/history-hike/.
Each Scout will earn a HOST badge!
🚶♂️ Once we return to the Welcome Center, families joining the History Hike will head to the National Geographic Museum in Washington DC. You can drive or take the metro with the Cubmaster. We'll regroup at the National Geographic Museum Courtyard to kick off the History Hike at 3 pm. The hike route goes from the courtyard of the National Geographic Building near 15th and M Streets to Metro Center Metro.
🎒 What to Bring on the Hike?
Each hiker should have:
- Two pencils or pens
- A camera (each hiker must be able to take 6 photos individually, sharing is okay)
- Full Uniform (if you have one)
- A watch (any kind)
- One empty plastic bag (supermarket type)
- Appropriate weather gear and water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Curiosity and a sense of adventure
Families should bring these if you have them (we'll have some to share):
- Compass
- Small magnifying glass
- One crisp $10 bill (for one of the clues – you keep it)
- Binoculars (recommended)
