Cubmaster - Dave Rockwell
Dave is a Wood Badge Trained Scouter and is proud to again serve with Pack 913, originally joining the Pack in the Spring of 2013. He also serves as the Powhatan District Cub Leader Roundtable Commissioner and he is an Associate Dean of the Cub College for the National Capital Area Council's University of Scouting (held each February). He has served on two Wood Badge Courses as a staff member and holds a PhD. in Cub Scouting. Wood Badge is Scouting's top tier training for Scouters.
Dave was both a Cub Scout and Boy Scout. He achieved the rank of Life Scout. Dave father was an Eagle Scout and his son is currently a 2nd Class Scout. He considers Scouting to be the best way to teach youth how to develop into a well rounded adult. It teaches youth how to serve God, others and themselves by becoming servant leaders who make moral and ethical choices.
Dave's vision for the Pack is to inspire everyone to live by the motto of Cub Scouting... Do Your Best. He emphasizes training and preparation as the keys to living to the "Keep it simple, make fun" challenge that was set forth by Lord Baden-Powell. He attributes his leadership and outdoor skills to lots of training and his lifetime of active engagement with youth ministries, including Scouting.
