Melissa is a high school social studies teacher and works in Friendswood ISD with the special education department. She is working on her master’s degree in Human Resource Management. As Assistant Cubmaster and Bear Den leader, she enjoys planning the activities and seeing the Cubs learn and grow throughout the year. Melissa’s hobbies include container gardening, yoga, reading, and board games.
Jesse grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and Boise, Idaho, attending the University of Idaho and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 2007. He then moved to Houston to work as a Flight Controller for NASA's International Space Station. He now works in management, in charge of Program Integration for Flight Operations with the ISS and Commercial Low Earth Orbit programs.
Jesse participated in Cub Scouts as a kid and is excited to share the values of scouting with his son, Ian, born in 2017. Jesse enjoys being in the outdoors and looks forward to opportunities to share adventures with the scouts.
Stephen grew up in Odessa, Texas, and graduated from Odessa High School in 1996, attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geographic Information Science. He married his wife, Glenda, in 2008 and they have two great kids, Lauren, born in 2013, and Christian, born in 2017. He is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor for his own firm, High Tide Land Surveying, LLC.
Growing up, he was active in Scouting and look forward to passing the values and skills learned as a boy to another generation of young people. Both himself, as a Land Surveyor, and his entire family enjoy being outdoors and do so as often as we can.
John Carter is an Assistant Cub Master for Pack 609. In his youth, he earned all the Cub Scout and Webelos awards including Arrow of Light. He completed earned the Eagle Scout rank in 1989 and was an officer in Explorer post-1836 and a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow at Mikanakawa Lodge in the Circle 10 council area. He is a US Army Veteran. He has an Associate's degree in Computer Science and an Associate's degree in Biology. His Bachelor's degree is in Biological Science and he is currently working on a Master's degree in Environmental Systems. He is a High School Chemistry and Forensic Science teacher at Hitchcock ISD and an active member of the League City Masonic Lodge.
Stephen will be serving as Lion Den to start the scout year, then hand to a new leader as the year continues.
