Life in Pack 609 is full of year-round excitement! Our calendar is packed with hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, and community traditions designed to challenge our scouts and bring our families closer together. Whether we are building from scratch, sleeping under the stars, or serving our League City neighbors, every event is a chance for our boys and girls to learn by doing and make lifelong memories.
Pack Fishing
Whether they are seasoned anglers or holding a fishing rod for the first time, our scouts learn fishing basics, water safety, and wildlife appreciation.
Pinewood Derby
High-speed family fun! Scouts work with their parents to design, carve, and paint a custom racing car from a simple block of wood. On race day, the kids cheer each other on as their creations fly down the track in a friendly competition celebrating sportsmanship and creativity.
Trail or Treat
Scouts will travel to Bovay Scout Ranch for a weekend of camping, activities, range and target activities, and playing with other scouts around the area.
Blue and Gold Banquet
Our pack families gather together for a special celebration. It's a night where we celebrate Scouting's history and award rank advancements to honor the scouts' hard work. Parents contribute to the meal to make this a memorable occassion.
Cub-o-Ree
Scouts will travel to Camp Karankawa for a weekend of camping, activities, range and target activities, and playing with other scouts around the area.
Pack Campouts
Scouts will visit local camping areas to work on outdoor adventures, camp under the stars and enjoy camping activities like S'Mores by the fire.
Bike Rodeo
Scouts will learn about bicycle safety, handling skills, and basic maintenance. Bring your helmet and bike to get safety inspections and learn how to ride safely!
Raingutter Regatta
Scouts will build and decorate their own trimaran racing sailboat. On Regatta Night, the scouts will blow their boat down the track in a friendly competion to see who is the fastest sailor!
Scout Sunday
A meaningful tradition where our pack demonstrates "Duty to God" and shows appreciation to our community. Scouts attend a local church service in full uniform to thank our charter organization and local faith communities for their continued support.
Pack Hikes
Hikes are designed to be fun for all age levels - from the youngest Lions to the Arrow of Light scouts - teaching trail safety, nature appreciation, and "Leave No Trace" principles while enjoying some screen-free family time in the great outdoors.
Community Outreach
Our pack is active in the community, participating in parades and community service to make League City the best place it can be.
