We're So Glad You've Joined Us!

Welcome New Members to Pack 609!

At Pack 609, we embrace the whole family! When you register your child for Cub Scouts, everyone in your family becomes part of our Pack family. Parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, grandparents, godparents, and siblings are all encouraged to join in on the excitement. It’s not just your Scout who will make new friends; you’ll have the chance to connect with other Scout families as well. We’re proud of the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere we create and look forward to sharing it with you each year.

Now that you've registered, you may be wondering what to do next. Here is the Pack 609 Guide for getting started!

1. SCOUTBOOK: A few days after submitting your youth application, your Scout will be registered with Pack 609. The Bay Area Council Council will sync their records with ScoutBook, our system for tracking advancement and communicating with families. You’ll then receive an email to connect to your Scout’s account. Please be sure to open this email and follow the instructions.

2. GROUPME: Pack 609 uses GroupMe for real-time communication with our parents.  Contact Pack Leadership to get added.  We will add you to the main Pack group and your Den Leader will add you to a Den Group.  You will receive text messages, but also download the app to receive more details.

3. FACEBOOK GROUP: Our Facebook Group is where you can see all the exciting things that our pack is doing.  We also have a private Google Photos group that we will add you to for adding event pictures that will be used throughout the year as part of the Pack Meetings.

4. CALENDAR: Calendars are maintained in Scoutbook and can be accessed by subscribing to the link from your favorite calendar program.  Links to the calendars will be provided as part of your new member orientation and you can always reach out to leadership for information about how to subscribe.  Please subscribe instead of copying to your personal calendar as events can change and we want you to have the latest and greatest information.

5. Fill out Family Info Survey: Please fill out the Family Info Survey.  This helps us with parent contact information, which shirts are needed, and allows us to know what talents and resources we have in our Pack so we can serve the scouts.  Survey Link

6. JUMP INTO MEETINGS AND HAVE FUN: The best way to get started is to dive into our meetings and enjoy the experience! Engaging with fellow families, participating in activities, and sharing your enthusiasm will help you feel right at home. Each meeting is an opportunity to learn, connect, and make lasting memories. We can’t wait to see your family’s energy and creativity come to life as we embark on this exciting adventure together!
