Pack 416 Pinewood Derby

On Saturday, March 3rd 2023 Pack 416 will host our annual Pinewood Derby! This annual tradition is the highlight of the year for most Scouts, and for their parents too!

The purpose of building and racing Pinewood Derby Cars is for the Scout to have fun, experience a sense of accomplishment after focusing on a goal, practice good sportsmanship, and strengthen the bond between the Scout and their family members. 

Build Days

There will be three build days for Scouts and their parent(s) to come and learn the top tips and tricks to building a successful Pinewood Derby car. If a cub attends one of these meetings and completes everything they need to do, or if you have the necessary tools to build the car at home, you do not have to attend additional meetings. PLEASE RSVP through ScoutBook or via text/email as it will impact planning. 

As these build days will happen in a garage and a driveway, please dress appropriately for the weather!

Race Day

Saturday, Jan 27th, is Race Day at the Queen of Peace church gym. Check-in is from 9am to 9:45am. Your car will be weighed and checked to ensure it meets the rules. The first race is scheduled to begin at 10am. The race will conclude with an award ceremony by noon, with a pizza lunch!
