The Cub Scouts Wolf den is for 2nd grade children (usually 7–8 years old) who are continuing their Cub Scout journey or joining for the first time.

What Is the Wolf Den?

• Grade Level: 2nd Grade

• Age: Around 7–8 years old

• Rank: Wolf — the third rank in Cub Scouts (after Lion and Tiger)

• Group: A Wolf den is a small group of kids working together on fun activities toward their Wolf badge.
  
  

What Do Wolf Scouts Do?

Wolf Scouts build on what they learned as Tigers. The program focuses on personal responsibility, citizenship, health, and outdoor skills, but it’s still very fun and hands-on.

Wolf Adventures:

Scouts complete 6 required adventures and at least 1 elective adventure to earn the Wolf badge.

Family Involvement

• Parents still help at home and attend some den activities.

• However, Wolf Scouts start doing more independent work and take on more responsibility.

• Dens are often led by a Den Leader (a trained parent volunteer).
  
  

Wolf Den Meetings

• Usually meet three times per month.

• Include hands-on activities, games, crafts, and sometimes field trips.

• Scouts also attend pack meetings with all dens.
  
  

What They Earn

• Wolf badge after completing the required and elective adventures.

• Adventure belt loops for each adventure completed.

• Recognition and awards are given at pack meetings.
