The Cub Scouts Tiger den is for 1st grade children (around 6–7 years old) who are continuing their journey in Cub Scouts or joining for the first time.

What Is the Tiger Den?

• Grade Level: 1st Grade

• Age: Typically 6 or 7 years old

• Rank: Tiger is the second rank in Cub Scouting (after Lion)

• Group Name: Scouts at this level meet in a Tiger den, part of the larger Cub Scout pack
  
  

What Do Tigers Do?

The Tiger program introduces more structured, hands-on activities while still keeping things fun and age-appropriate. It’s very family-oriented, just like the Lion rank.

Adventures:

Tigers complete themed activities called adventures, which focus on:

• Nature and the outdoors

• Games and physical activity

• Community and citizenship

• Teamwork and communication

• Personal safety and responsibility

Scouts complete:

• 6 required adventures

• 1 elective adventure

• To earn the Tiger badge
  
  

Family Involvement

• A parent or adult partner attends meetings and activities with the Tiger Scout

• The adult helps the child complete activities at home and in the den

• This shared experience is a big part of the Tiger year
  
  

Meetings

• Tiger dens usually meet three times per month

• They also attend pack meetings with all the dens

• May include field trips, service projects, or campouts
  
  

What They Earn

• Tiger badge (worn on their uniform after completing required adventures)

• Adventure belt loops for each completed adventure

• Recognition at pack meetings
