Pine Wood Derby - Pack 26 activities

we are hosting 3 pine wood derby workshops in lieu of the normal den meetings

April 4: - Kickoff meeting and rough cutting.
Hand out official BSA pinewood derby kits, including wood, wheels and axels.
Discuss rules and offer some suggestions.
Scouts will design their basic shape, mark their blocks of wood
Adults will use band saws and scroll saws to rough cut the wood into shape.
April 11: - finish rough cutting, start shaping the rough cut.
Band Saw, Scroll Saw, Drill Press available.
Hand tools available for filing, sanding.
Sanding tools available.
Painting supplies available.
April 18: - finishing
painting, stickers
mount tires
adjust weight
verify fits on track
April 20: - Pine Wood Derby competition and afterparty.

Pine Wood Derby - District Competition

Qualified scouts may participate in the Two Rivers district wide Pine Wood Derby. See the Scoutbook Calendar for information about where and when.

The top 3 cars from each rank move on to compete in the District Race on Sunday May 4th at the University Town Mall in Sarasota. There is no Council Race this year.
