How Much Does Cub Scouts Cost?

Registration Fees - The following fees apply to scouts:

So all in, a year of scouting costs $151, with $101 of that paid online when your register, and $50 paid to the pack via cash/check/venmo.

To officially register online, go here or go to beascout.org, and search for Cub Scout Pack 110 in the Cleveland area. You’ll create a my.scouting.org account in the process. You’re welcome to come out to a few meetings or activities to see if scouts is a good fit for your kiddo. You do need to be fully registered to attend council events though due to insurance requirements.

Activities - Some monthly actives also involve a fee.

Things like hikes and the pinewood derby are free, but council events typically run ~ $30 for day camps and ~$50 for overnight camping to cover activities and food.

Uniforms & Scout Book

All scouts will need a book and uniform, which can be purchased at the local scout shop (2241 Woodland Ave). Books run ~ $25 and kids get a new one every year. For uniforms, scouts will need at least a shirt (~$35) and a belt ($15), which is where the advancement awards for the younger kids go. Lions (kindergartners) just wear a lions t-shirt, while scouts from 1st though 4th grade wear a button up blue uniform shirt. They can use the same one throughout scouts, assuming they don’t outgrow it. 5th graders can advance to a khaki shirt, which they can continue to wear in a Scouting America Troop after cub scouts. There are also den specific hats, neckerchiefs, etc. for purchase each year. All in, everything can cost over $150 up front but you can likely get some rank specific items gently used from people in the pack, and none of those are required. Our pack is not super strict as far as dress code goes. Come as you are.
