I built this project as a request from a research group of the University, whom developed a chemical to attract wasps.
The goal was to test the effectiveness of the substance and for that they needed to kill the wasps, so they don't alerts the others members of the colony about the chemical.
As materials I used two metals grids, separated around 1 or 2 millimetres from each others and the power supply was the grid.
For this project, a Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier was used due to his simplicity.
A three stage Cockcroft-Walton was simulated on Psim. The AC generator is Chilean grid, which has 220V and 50 Hz
As expected the voltage was increased to almost 2kV.
This voltage can be higher if further stages are added to the voltage multiplier.
